You may start your day with a cultural visit. Υour first contact with the Greek Capital should be Acropolis, one of the most important sites of Athens, easy to go as you have to take the red metro line and to stop at the ACROPOLIS station…
walking in Acropolis: do not forget in summer to have your hat & your sunglasses, a bottle of mineral water and of course your ticket entrance that costs 12€… with this ticket you have the opportunity to get in other sites like the Theater of “Herodes Atticus” and others…
An alternative site seeing may be some of the great museums of the town, the most known are: The National Archaeological Museum, the new museum of Acropolis opening date 2009, Benaki museum, Cycladic museum and the Byzantine museum.
Museums & Sites: As would be expected, Athens echoes its history in its museums and famous archaeological sites; the ancient Agora, Keramikos, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the National Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Cycladic Art which effected the Director Dimitris Papaioannou for the opening ceremony of the Olympic games and his idea with the naked white statues of Kouros and Apollo a very gay touch, Benaki and Byzantine museums are only some of them.
